| Reading HIV lab report Dec 2, 2006 my CD4, count (u/L) is 431. My cd8, count, QN (/uL) is 1899. There are other numbers as well for CD4/100 cells, QN (%) which is 15 and CD8/100 CELLS, QN (%) which is 65. It's all Greek to me, even after the doctor tried to explain it to me. Can you help? |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
Your CD4 count is 431 and 15%. Your CD8 count is 1899 and 65%. The count is the absolute number and the percent is the percentage of lymphocytes. Your CD4 count is relatively good and your CD8 count is markedly elevated which is a good sign and a normal reaction to HIV infection. | |||||||||
