TLC and CD4 relationship
Jun 18, 2006
My TLC (total lymp[hocyte count) was reported at 1100, cd 4 count was 583. Research that I have done indicates that a TLC of 1100 (<1250)should correlate with a CD4 of around 200. Is there a definitive relationship between TLC and Cd4 counts?

Not exactly. The total lymphocyte count reflects B cells and T cells (roughly 1/3 and 2/3rds), of which there are primarily CD4 and CD8 T cells. If you have an increased CD8 response (as many people with HIV infection do) that changes the composition of the ratio.
