Low numbers

Is there an explanation, proven or conjectured, why some poz people have BOTH a low CD4 count (even under 200) AND a low viral load (under 1,000 say)? Thanks.

Not a lot of good data indicating why this phenomenon occurs. Some believe that the virus replicates at low levels but is very efficient at killing t cells.
