viral load/cd4/
Mar 11, 2006

My partner has been diagnosed with hiv a year and a half ago.. currently cd4 is at 340 and viral load is at 290000 .. we the prior test cd4 was at 400 and viral load 400000 should he consider meds soon ? the Doc says wait for the next test results,,, my partner is worried about soom leg pimples ( in grown hairs? boils?) that have beeeen reacuring in the saame spot for the last 3 months should he be conserned???

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Although another set of numbers will yield some information, I suspect that the numbers won't change much. I would recommend starting treatment sooner rather than later, given that very high viral load and the slippage of the CD4 count.
