Hep C and Elevated GOT/SGPT Mar 11, 2006 Dear Dr Holodniy: After years of very slighly elevated and normal tests my GOT came back 132 and SGPT 224. I have never had such a high result even though I have been dealing with this for seven years. I am 56 years and I am concerned that my condition is worsening. Please tell me what is considered elevated liver enzyeme test and is interferon treatment something to be considered if this trend continues. |

 There are many factors to consider regarding starting treatment for HCV. Elevation of liver enzymes (at that level) alone is not sufficient. You need to discuss this with your gastroenterologist. | ||||||||
