Natural Defense

Jan 21, 2006

I was diagnosed hiv+ in July with a virul load of 423 and TCell at 700. 3 weeks later my VL had dropped to 265, Tcell remained the same. Now I am undetectable, <50 copies and my tcells are up to 825. I have never taken medication. I believe I was infected 6 months prior to the 1st + diagnosis. Will I remain undetectable? Will there ever be any way to test for a full 'remission'? Does anyone want to study me or others like me who's bodies seem to handle this virus well? Its been a roller coaster and I feel fortunate but not quite....

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Hard to predict if you will remain undetectable, but given your current results, it's a good bet. I don't think there is anything like full remission and it's too soon to talk about long term nonprogression. There are probably scientists studying people like you.
