tcells response
Dec 17, 2005

If the cell dies with HIV virus still inside the cell does the virus die with it? In other word, does the virus kill itself by killing the tcell?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Possibly. The HIV DNA that is integrated into the human DNA, from which virus is produced would be destroyed, but any completed virus particles already produced would be released as the cell dies.
