Difference from T-cell count and CBC Nov 6, 2005 Dr.Holodniy, Recently I had a CBC and t-cell count done at the same lab with the same sample of blood from the arm but put different tubes for different tests. The CBC said I had lymphocytes of 3203 (46%)that were calculated using an instrument differential. The t-cell count came back a week later with a lymphocyte count of 3546 with CD4's of 1636 and CD8's of 642. Could this be right? Is the 350 difference in lymphocytes because of the test type or should they have been identical if they were from the same sample of blood but in differnt tubes? Anotherwards, could would my t-cells be correct or did the lab mix-up samples. Thank you for your reply. |
