can u explain any of this #2
Sep 26, 2005

You answered my last question, but have left me confused... I had the positive EIA, IFA, and Western blot. My CD4 1094 and undetectable viral load. You stated I need to have another set of tests done because there was too many tests done during acute infection... do I need to be retested for HIV or for my CD4 and viral load? I thought that during the beginning stages your CD4 drops and viral load raises? Are these the tests I need repeated? Please draw me a picture (ha ha). Thank you very much for your time and your recent response.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

If you have had a screening EIA and confirmatory western blot done on the same blood sample and they are both positive, then you need a followup CD4 count and viral load.
