I don't understand
Mar 28, 2001

DEAR DOCTOR,I FOR THE LIFE OF ME CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY A DNA PCR IS NOT USED FOR DIAGNOSIS,In the studies I read about those people who were antibody negitive, the only reason they kept testing them is because they were positive by a pcr dna test and became antibody positive within a few months, why is this not used for diagnosis? either infection is there or it is not there simple.as I am sure a lot of other doctors agree please explain

Response from Dr. Holodniy

I have no explanation.
