Can it be?Sep 25, 2005 Hello Doctor Holodniy, can it be a person who was not on treatment to have cd4 count of 240 (25%), cd8 - 970 and viral load - undetectable (50 copies range). Viral load tests have been done twice with the same result in different labs. Is it possible this to be false undetectable result due to HIV-1 complex recombinant form/strain? Antibody tests gave positive HIV-1 result. This happened to a just diagnosed friend of mine in Kenya and she was told that her viral load results are very good. I am very concerned that this Undetectable is just a false result. Would you suggest some other tests to be done? |

![]() | Response from Dr. HolodniyIt is possible that it truly could be undetectable, or depending on what specific viral load assay is being used, it could be a false negative. | ||||||||
