What are my options at this poin?

Jul 24, 2005

I was diagnosed two weeks ago. Labs were done and the two results I have are the tcell 270, and the Virol Load 77,000. We still don't have the Genotype results yet. This is the first test and I don't know when I was infected. I'm very scared as my worst fear has overwelmed me. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to discuss my options but I also want to get your impute? Thank you for your time Doctor.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Given those numbers and if they are relatively the same on repeat, then you are looking at starting treatment very soon. I agree with getting a HIV drug resistance test up front to make sure you get started on the most effective regimen.
