|Undetectable & HIV test

I have an undetectable VL. Since its undetectable, does that mean a regular HIV test would show negative? What exactly does undetectable mean? I was diagnosed in 6/2001 and have never completely understood.

If your were "diagnosed" as HIV positive, that implies that an HIV antibody test and western blot confirmation test were both positive. A small percentage of people who are HIV infected, have continued evidence of HIV antibody positive tests, but have undetectable viral loads in the absence of treatment.
