| anything to help someone seroconverting? Jun 13, 2005 Thanks very much for what you do. I was exposed April 1, first symptoms April 13, tested pos May 21. As of June 1, VL>500,000 (off the scale), cd4 500 26%. Am I still seroconverting? Is there anything I can do right now to positively affect my future situation? I had/am having relatively mild symptoms, severe fatique, headaches, a few days intestinal problems. I am a 46 year old male, very stressed at the moment. |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
It is very likely that you are still experiencing symptoms because of acute infection. Although some experts recommend starting HIV treatment during this period, this is best done in a clinical trial. We do not know yet whether starting treatment very early in infection affects long term outcome. You will know within a few months how well your immune system is coping with the infection. | |||||||||
