recovery limit(s) ?

Dec 26, 2004

I've made excellent progress since full blown AIDS 3 yrs ago. Remained undectectable since my 1st Month on meds (combovir/viramune) ,Last 2 years cd4 ~550-750 & %cd4pos lympth ~ 20%. My question is. What exactly is limiting future long term increases in these markers to within the 'normal' ranges, Im guessing that even though I may be 'non detectable' , My body is still fighting a 'herculean' batle. Thanx

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Losses of CD4 clones (specific cells that fight specific kinds of infections or react to certain foreign proteins or antigens) may be permanently lost or not recoverable to "normal" levels when HIV has destroyed a critical amount of these cells.

A minor concern about labs
