Dec 19, 2004

At my original tests in 4-30-2004 my lab results were as follows tcells 12 vl 44000.00 and he did a test for cmv my igc was 4.89 and my igm was .080 no antibodies detected. I am on truvada sustiva and all opi meds including valcyte now in 12-7-2004 my tcels 58 my vl<50 for six months now undetectable my question is does my doctor need to test me for cmv again or will it just go dormant as my immune system gets better? thank you for what you guys do for us May God Bless Us All

Response from Dr. Holodniy

You have had a great viral response and your t cells are starting to come back up. The CMV test only indicates a positive antibody test indicating past exposure. This test does not indicate you have active CMV infection going on.
