| Do I have HIV? Mar 23, 2001 I have tested positive twice in a month with western blot. I now am told I am full blown HIV positive by one doctor. the bands found are GP160, GP120, P65 , P18, and P51, P41, p31, P24. I am positive that I did not have sexual intercourse in over a year or exposed in anyway to a "bottely fluid" exchange in over a year. I have a <0.03 TSH and have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism in Jan. 2000. Could this affect these HIV test? I also have a ESR of 94. I am very scared. HELP! JK. |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
Given the results of your western blot, this looks like HIV infection to me. The western blot only confirms HIV infection, it does not tell you anything about the stage of disease. You should consult an HIV expert to plan the next steps of the work up. MH | |||
