| Something wrong. Dec 13, 2004 Hi Dr. M. Holodniy. I have been positive with HIV for 8 years. And I have been HIV (undetectable) for 6 years. I can say about myself that I live a healthy lifestyle. I dont drink alcohol, dont smoke, do exercise and eat healthy nutrition food. I am 5.8 tall and 130 pounds. My weight is stable for many years, but sometimes I gain 2-3 pounds or loose. I try to be in a good shape. Two years ago I spotted changes in my body. And especially this year my legs and arms became very thin. Before I had very beautiful legs. But now they are very skinny. It's like no muscles or fat under skin. You can see all my veins. I am worried that may be some problems, may be I am loosing muscles. Is somethig wrong with me? Should I be worried? Thank you. |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
You don't indicate whether you are taking HIV medications. But if this is the case you may have some lipoatrophy and you should discuss this with your doctor about possibly changing HIV medications to a combination that does not cause this syndrome. | |||
