| Hematopathology blood smears: reactive lymphocytes 2 to 3 years after infection Mar 15, 2004 I know from what you have written before that reactive lymphocytes on a blood smear are a nonspecific finding of usually viral infections. But, would all HIV positive patients have reactive lymphocytes in a blood smear for years after infection? Could you also please give a few examples (besides Hepatitises) of infectious diseases that would show reactive lymphocytes on a smear 2 to 3 years after infection? Many thanks. |

This has not been well quantified in terms of duration in people. Infections, cancers, autoimmune diseases, allergic reactions have all been reported to exhibit reactive lymphocytes. | |||||||||
