| 215 & LOW VIRAL LOAD Jan 11, 2003 MY BOYFRIEND TESTED W/ 215 & A LOW VIRAL LOAD. THE CLINIC SAID THIS WAS UNUSUAL BUT DIDN'T INVESTIGATE FURTHER. WOULD THIS BE A SIGN OF ANYTHING? ALSO, DOES HAVING MONO YEARS BEFORE HAVE ANY AFFECT ON HIV (EITHER TESTING OR ITS EFFECTS)? |

Response from Dr. Little
215 is a drug resistance mutation - if that is what they were referring to, it suggests that the person who infected him may have taken AZT in the past. It also suggests that any treatment recommendations should take this mutation into consideration. | |||||||||
