Test Results and Time of Infection Nov 26, 2002 My questions is this. If someone came into your office after testing positive and you ran tests for viral load and CD4s and the results came back at over 600,000 for VL and around 160 for CD4 and they had a co-infection for Syphillis is it possible that they had been infected with HIV within 3 - 6 months of testing positive or do you think that they have been positive much longer than that? |

 Although it's remotely possible that this could be acute infection, the likelihood is that this is long standing chronic infection. | ||||||||
