| Different variety of HIV strain C in India? Mar 1, 2001 Dear Dr Holodniy I have asked this question recently on 21 Feb 2001, but possibly it was somehow missed. I would really appreciate your opinion and reply. I have recently read an article over the internet in the journal of Virology (1999)about the discovery, that HIV strain C in India is somehow different from the other C strains worldwide. I just whant to know whether the up to dated ELISA kits (for ex: "Ortho Clinical diagnostics" or "Innotest") would not be able to detect the Indian C strain or they are sensitive to all known strains worldwide. I have got my negative ELISA result 7 months after possible exposure and just wanted to double check whether that is OK or I need some other tests to consider. Thank you very much for your advise. |
