dear dr , in a recent responce to one of your e-mail senders, you said that people without hiv meds will live 5 to 10 years. but with the current meds now availible they can live several more . this scares me because dr boyle told me that i can live a full life way passed retirement as long as i take my meds every day like i supposed to. i,m hearing conflicting stories here. please let me know.

This is the problem with literal interpretations by readers in these forums. These numbers and projections are all generalizations based on population studies of natural history. Each individual patient is different and large data sets should be used for background information.
