| Treatment history of person that infected you helpful? Oct 13, 2000 Dear Doctor If you as a hiv+ person positively know who infected you, does it help to know the treatment history of that person? If the other person was not on meds is it then likely you got a wild type virus? If the other person was on meds but not fully suppressed, is it then very likely you got a resistant strain? If you got infected with a resistant strain would it then revert to a wild type if left untreated for say 5 years or would there always be some reservoir left of the resistant strain. -- thanks |
