immunologic failure
May 11, 2008

Dear Dr. Mark

I would like you exlain from a lab perspective what constiitutes immulogic failure. My viral load is non detectable but the CD4 is falling.

I am going to another lab because this one is know to screw up as they have an old clunker of flow cyclometery machine..

Can you walk me through this as i am very worried and bear in mind that here in the third world the facilities leave a lot to be desired....

Response from Dr. Holodniy

You don't indicate what your CD4 count and percent is, and what the trend has been over time to cause you this concern. Also would be helpful to know what your HIV meds are, if you are taking them, etc.
