PEP med
Aug 23, 2009
Dear Doctor, I am HIV+, taking 3TC, tenofovir and Efavirenz for 5 months. CD4 count 350 and Viral load undetectable. I am top and have anus sex with my male partner two days ago. I penetrated it for about 2 minutes and out due to his pain. i found condom was broken. I am concerned that there my fluid went inside his anus. He was HIV-. The doctor asked him to take 3TC and tenofovir today (48 hours after) as PEP. Is it 3TC and tenofovir good for his PEP? I am now very worry that he may get infected due to above problem. Please advise me. I really do not want my partner to have whole life problem like me. Is there any any other better PEP med for him? I urgue your advise.
