Cheilitis? Dec 22, 2001 Dear Doc, Every year I seem to get this inflamation on the corners of my mouth. Could it be from the sun? It takes forever to go away. I asked my doctor about it, and they say there isn't much info about it. Should I see a dermatologist? |

 Cheilitis can be caused by a fungal infection (thrush), herpes simplex, or in some cases, vitamin deficiency. If your primary care doctor can't help you, then perhaps a dermatologist can. |
