 Caseous means cheese-like; granulomatous inflammation describes the arrangement in tissue of certain types of white blood cells in response to certain kinds of infections caused by mycobacteria or fungi. The two terms together describes the typical way that tissue looks after infection with a mycobacterium, such as TB. You should be taking a combination of medications active against TB until the final results of your biopsy are known. |
