TB
Oct 30, 2001

You stated in the posting TB and HIV on Oct 23, that 'HIV puts you at risk for TB, and TB puts you at risk for HIV', my question is, why would TB put anyone at risk of HIV?

Thank you for your time

Response from Dr. Feinberg

Because TB has a negative impact on the overall functioning of the immune system. These 2 diseases co-exist so often that everyone with TB should be tested for HIV, and vice versa.
