when to get tested for hiv
Oct 7, 2001

Doctor, I may have been exposed to hiv roughly 4 months ago. Is it too early to be tested, and how long should I wait for an accurate test result after possible exposure?

Response from Dr. Feinberg

Four months is not too early, it's a good time to be tested. Almost everyone who is HIV-infected will have a positive blood test by 4 months.
