 HIV+ people usually do not get yeast infections (oral or vaginal candidiasis/thrush) until they have less than 500 CD4 cells, especially less than 350 cells. In women, vaginal thrush seems to appear earlier than oral thrush. Once someone has gotten esphageal candidiasis, which is a more serious infection, that is indicative of AIDS and usually occurs when CD4 cells are less than 200. |
