| risk factor for HSV other than sexual exposure Aug 25, 2001 respected doctor, is there any risk factor/possibility other than sexual exposure for herpes genitalis infection as one having past history of herpes zoster infection on chest? i am working in national aids research institute and have microbiology background of 6years.during patient examination i take every precaution. thanks, |

Herpes simplex infection can be transmitted by nonsexual routes. For example, dentists and dental hygienists can get herpes infection of the finger tip from working ona patient with active oral herpes, and herpes can also be transmitted by kissing. |
