|Anal Lesion or Herpes?
Jan 7, 2000
Over the past 6 months I have had a growing lesion on my Anus. At first, I thought it was haemorrhoids but think now it may be herpes or something else. It is about the size of a small grape with a roughish surface. It is not painful but sometimes very itchy. It is very embarrassing, that's why I haven't been to see the Doc! Any advice would be much appreciated.

It sounds like a genital wart to me. Despite the embarassment, please see your doctor soon. These can grow to be pretty big and can get quite uncomfortable. Also, the virus that causes warts is associated with anal and cervical cancer, so it's important to get checked out.
