Transparent 'blisters' inside under lip (mouth)
Mar 1, 2000

Dear doc, I have small blisters (transparent) inside my mouth, behind my under lip. Under my tongue are also rough pieces of 'meat', it looks more irregular than normal. Do you think these spots are OI? Is it usual?

Response from Dr. Feinberg

You don't say whether you are HIV+ or not, but assuming you are, these transparent blisters could be herpes. The "rough" spots are hard to figure out from your description, and you don't say whether any of these problems is painful or hoe long it's been there. You could see a doctor, dentist or oral surgeon experienced in treating HIV+s and see what they think these things are.
