The Difference between KS and a Mole
Feb 8, 2000

I recently have found spot brown to purple spots on my fore arms and some on my legs. I went to see a Dr. He told me that they are moles. I never seen them before. Please help me rule out. Also I'm not sexually active. Thank You

Response from Dr. Squires

You don't say whether you're HIV+ or not. If you're HIV-, they probably are not KS. But moles are usually brown, not purplish. And HIV+s can get KS without being sexually active. I suggest you see a dermatologist (skin doctor) who has experience taking care of people with HIV.
