Question on Risk of Acquiring through Close Contact
Feb 10, 2000

i have a question about risk of acquiring HIV.

Back in December i went to a seedy strip bar with a

few friends. One of the strippers got real "friendly"

with me real quick. she never touched my penis, we

never kissed, and my clothes never came off. Her

clothes were off and while i never inserted my finger

into her vagina i did move it around her inner thighs

which were somewhat wet. i also touched her breasts.

SHe did insert her finger into her vagina and touch my

body with it (neck and ears). Additionally, i think

that she put my finger in her mouth. i don't believe

my mouth or fingers had any cuts on them at the time.

If this is everything that happened, am i at risk of

HIV infection, and would you recommend i get tested.

Thank You

Response from Dr. Feinberg

I think the likelihood of having been infected with HIV in this way is pretty small. But if you need the reassurance so you won't worry, then get tested.
