		exposure to shingles and HIV? Jul 16, 2001 When a person (who is HIV-) is exposed to a Shingles virus in a person who is HIV+ person by touching one of Shingle sores does he get HIV transferred to himself or he would get chickenpox (if he didnt have it before ) ... Thx


		Response from Dr. Feinberg If you've never had chicken pox before, now may be your time. Varicella zoster virus is highly contagious. HIV is not, and would not be present in the shingles lesions.
