sharing razor blades
Jul 16, 2001

I had been sharing my toothbrush and razor blade with a house-mate of mine and i recently susect that he might be HIV+ and at times i do bleed after shaving. Please tell me what are my chance of contracting AIDS if he is really a carrier?

Thank you for your answer.

Response from Dr. Feinberg

Do not share your toothbrush or razor with anyone. Hepatitis and other infections can be spread this way, as well as HIV. Don't take any dumb chances. And if you're really worried, I suggest you get tested for HIV, hepatitis B & C, and syphilis.
