skin marks
May 18, 2001

hello doctor, i have a very good relationship with my docotr but she is out of town, so i thought i would check with you just in case. I am female and have been positive for 3 years, asymptomatic and have not started meds yet. I have been noticing these light brown marks on my skin on my chest. they almost look like the "age" spots that old people get, but i am 20. they do not hurt or bleed, but they kind of flake off almost if i scratch them and they vary in shape in size. should i be concerned? thanks for your time.

Response from Dr. Feinberg

Since I can't see your skin maarks, it's hard to know exactly what it is, but it sounds like some kind of dermatitis. I suggest you have it checked out be a dermatologist.
