Response from Dr. Feinberg
Night sweats (drenching sweats that make the bedclothes damp/wet) are usually associated with an opportunistic disease in HIV+s, but they can also occur in any chronic infection, including TB and endocarditis, or with various tumors, especially lymphomas. These infections and tumors can occur at any T cell and viral load levels. Sometimes, no specific cause can be found. I suggest you report your symtpoms to your doctor so that whatever additional testing s/he believes is warranted can be done. |
