|genital ulcerations as part of ARS?
Apr 3, 2001
Dr. Feinberg, On the 1st day of ARS I discovered painless ulcerations in my mouth and on my penis shaft and a dime-sized rash on my chest. From that day on symptoms just got worse...
Are there documented cases of genital ulcerations as a symptom during ARS?
Response from Dr. Feinberg
I haven't searched the literature for a reference that specifically adresses your question, but if such ulceration were to occur during ARS it would certainly be an unusual manifestation. Although ARS is a broad syndrome and can include a long list of possible manifestations, I would check to make sure that the ulcers are not due to a more common problem which is also sexually transmitted, such as herpes.
