Mar 22, 2001

Hell dr . How R U If ive had a headache for 6 weeks with pain only in th back of my head and stiff neck with no fever, vomiting just a pressure headache that is mainly there during the day which declines through out the night. Could this be accute meningitis or would it be more severe than this. My Dr just laughs when i said could it be menningitis as i had sore throat with swallon neck gland for 6 weeks. Neg at 9 weeks going againat 16 weeks ( low risk , Oral SEX)

Have a nice day

Response from Dr. Feinberg

Meningitis can be subacute or chronic, and the symptoms can be limited to stiff neck and headache. Since these symptoms have persisted for so long, it might be worth getting a spinal tap to see if there are any abnormalities or not.
