| cancer then Toxoplasmosis Mar 13, 2001 My brother got hodgkins disease, he was cured with chemo. Part of treatment was removal of spleen, he then contracted toxo plasmosis which left him paralysed, is there anything that can be done? thankyou |

You don't say whether your brother has HIV or not, although people with Hodgkin's disease are also immunosuppressed. If he's HIV+, then antiviral therapy for HIV plus suppressive therapy for toxo would be the best bet. If he's not HIV+, then continued suppressive therapy against toxo is appropriate. There is no guarantee, however, that he'll regain full functiuon even with optimal therapy. Good luck! |
