		False Negative? Mar 27, 2002 In what cases would people receive a false negative on an HIV Elisa test? Is it very rare to receive inaccurate results? Thank you


		Response from Dr. Feinberg The most common reason for a false negative ELISA is acute HIV infection-- that is, you've been tested before seroconversion has occurred. It is pretty rare to get inaccurate results for other reasons.
