Vaccination Typhoid
Mar 23, 2002

Dear Dr.:

I was vaccinated a couple of days before getting the HIV test against typhoid. Could that slow down the time to show antibodies on my test? Does Zelitrex, acyclovir, a medicine against the Herpes Simplex virus, interfere?

Response from Dr. Feinberg

Neither the typhoid vaccine nor the medications will affect the HIV test.
