newly diagonosedw/pcp& pancreatitis
Mar 20, 2002

Our mentally disabled uncle was recently hospitalized & discovered to be hiv+ & has aids with pcp. He has been on a ventalator for 3 weeks+ now & has also developed pancreatitis & an inflammation of a leg vein. He has been running a fever & the drs. are unable to give him a tracheotomy. He also has yeast in his urine. He has been sedated the whole time & isn't even aware of his condition. We are very concerned & have been in constant communication with his drs who seem optimistic...What is your opinion?

Response from Dr. Feinberg

It's a tough question to answer, but I can say that others in similar circumstances have made it. I wish you and your uncle all the best.
