|Likelyhood of HIV from bloody mouth
Mar 12, 2002
What is the likelyhood that a male can get HIV from oral sex as the receptive partner and the male performing the oral sex has blood in his mouth. Will the virus be neutralized by the saliva? What are the chances of it gettting into the uretha?
Response from Dr. Feinberg
The odds are probably small but there was recently presented a well-documented case of transmission by bite and the biter's mouth was bloody from having a seizure. There is no way to quantitate this risk, but it is clearly nor impossible.
Is there an undiagnosed infection
