| Does KS always spread? Jan 12, 2001 Does KS always spread or may it be limited to a single lesion on the skin? If it does spread, with the first lesion on the underside of the forearm will additional lesions appear in the same or contiguous geographic area or may it pop up anywhere on the body? Thanks... |

Response from Dr. Feinberg
KS tends to spread eventually -- meaning that new lesions appear -- but this can happen slowly or rapidly, it's fairly variable. The new lesions can be fairly distant from the original one, not necessarily nearby (KS is a "multicentric" tumor, which means it can arise in multiple separate places). |
