Hurting throut
Nov 20, 2000

My throut has been hurting for three days now. It feels like someone has squeezed my throut. I am not sure if this might be something to do with HIV or just a sore throut.. I have never had a sore throut that felt like this before.. I have been HIV positive for about 4 years now. Could this be HIV related?

Response from Dr. Feinberg

It is possible that you have thrush (a common fungal infection of the throat in HIV+ people) or any other germ that can cause a sore throat such as Strep. See your doctor for a definitive diagnosis and teatment.
