Question two
Jan 6, 2002

Dear Dr Feinberg, Would you please answer my question because no one else seems to want to. I have heard HIV type N does not affect CD4 cells but does affect CD8 cells. Is this true? Also, does the illness progress the same way as other types of HIV or is it unique? Thankyou

Response from Dr. Feinberg

I know of no such data that indicate that some strains of HIV do not affect CD4 cells, or that the course of HIV disease is different.
